Tatiana Kunwongse

Counsellor
Master of Counselling (Monash University)

I work with teens and adults on a broad range mental health issues such as stress management, anxiety, depression, motivation, anger management, career decisions, body image, sexuality, LGBTQ+ issues, relationships, co-dependency, friendships, family dynamics, self-esteem, self-confidence, grief, multiculturalism, trauma, living with ADHD, and other major (or minor) life changes.

My  therapeutic approach is person-centred and from the lens of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. While many of my interventions are Mindfulness-based, I also draw from Polyvagal Theory and use creative approaches from Narrative Therapy and Internal Family Systems to explore and expand on identities. I work by collaborating with my clients on strategies that fit their preferred styles and challenge them to grow, as needed.

Before I became a counsellor, I was an English and creative writing teacher, and I mentored teenagers on career discovery and soft skills development. I have years of experience in working with clients of diverse and multicultural backgrounds, especially those who have Third Culture Kid upbringings.

When I'm not counselling, you can find me on the yoga mat or reading Tarot cards. My counselling work is secular and evidence-based, but if spirituality is an important component of your beliefs, we can explore incorporating spiritual practice into your mental wellbeing goals too.

I am registered with the Australian Counselling Association and have a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University.
